This biography is pretty much wholly cribbed from Harry Thompson's excellent biography of dear old Cook (see Further Reading at the end of this section), together with a few other sources. For the full story, get off your arse and buy Thompson's book. And Alexander Games' book too while you're at it, which has a handy full timeline for all Cook's work, discographies, filmographies and all that palaver. We would also heartily recommend Roger Wilmut's chronology, discography, videography and so on in Lin Cook's "Peter Cook Remembered".

The purpose of the following is not to be a complete run down of every chat show, undergraduate review or advert Cook ever did, but enough to give you a decent overview of how Cook's life fitted together with enough relevant facts and dates to keep the story together.
For in depth articles, sketch transcripts and that sort of thing from Publish & Bedazzled (P&B) concerning various points in Cook's life, We have helpfully pointed out the relevant issue number, in the text, for those issue still in print. You can buy some if you like.
